👐 WOW 👐 Shout out to the AMAZING presentation from Sounding Joy yesterday, an organization that provides hearing aids to Tampa Bay area children and families who cannot afford them. Founder & Executive Director Christy Vogel shared her own personal story and drastic statistics about the likelihood with people with hearing loss for substance use and suicides.

💸 Woo hoo!! 💸 Central Park Performing Arts Foundation once again stole our hearts with their continued commitment to the youth scholarships in the greater Largo area for summer camp theatrical performances. 🎭

Proceeds stem from Death by Chocolate 2025 -- we can't wait for this December!Receiving the award is Sue Osborne from President Ward Johansen.

AMAZING WEATHER this morning! Thank you to our Rotarians Margo Adams-Reid, Woody Brown, Matt Woodard, Arrow Woodard, Krista Cushing Pincince, Maria Kadau, Ward Johansen and our 2 family of volunteers who helped in the water and on land at Bayhead Pond cleanup! We do this every 6 months, it really shows.

The City of Largo is proud to announce that Mayor Woody Brown, Intergovernmental Relations Coordinator Chris Hawks, and Legislative Aide Carson King have been recognized by the Florida League of Cities, Inc. as 2026 Home Rule Heroes.

This statewide honor is awarded to local officials and municipal advocates who demonstrate a strong commitment to protecting Home Rule, the principle that local communities should have the authority to make decisions that best serve their residents. Each year, the Florida League of Cities recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in engaging with lawmakers, sharing the real-world impacts of proposed legislation, and ensuring the voices of Florida’s cities are heard in Tallahassee.

Mayor Brown, Chris, and Carson earned this recognition through proactive outreach, thoughtful policy engagement, and advocacy on behalf of Largo’s residents and the broader municipal community. Their efforts help elevate Largo’s voice in key legislative discussions and reinforce the importance of local decision-making across the state.

It's that time of year again! Our very first grant award from our Death by Chocolate fundraiser goes to the City of Largo, Florida USA City of Largo Recreation, Parks, & Arts for its adaptive aquatics children's program. We have been proud supporters for many years.
