City of Largo facilities, including Largo City Hall at Horizon West Bay, recreation facilities, the Largo Public Library, and the Central Park Performing Arts Center, will be closed on Mon, Sep 7, in observance of Labor Day. The Largo Golf Course will be open at regular hours.

Businesses located at Horizon West Bay, including Strachan’s Ice Cream & Desserts and Parlor Doughnuts, are independently operated and may have different holiday hours. Please visit their websites for current hours of operation.

Trash & Recycling Collection Notice
Residential garbage and recycling will not be collected on Mon, Sep 7. Please see the collection changes below:

➡️If your regular collection day is Tuesday, your collection moves to Wednesday

The City of Largo invites residents to attend Community Town Hall: How Property Taxes Fund City Services on Wed, Sep 9, from 6 to 7:30pm at Horizon West Bay, 440 West Bay Drive.

Former Florida Senator Jeff Brandes will join Mayor Woody Brown, City Manager John Curp, Largo Police Department Chief Mike Loux, and Largo Fire Rescue Chief Matt Carpenter for a moderated panel discussion and Q&A.

Before the town hall, City of Largo departments will be available in the Horizon West Bay lobby from 5 to 6pm. Residents can speak with representatives about the services their departments provide and how those services are funded. Representatives will also be available from 7:30 to 8pm.

The town hall begins at 6pm on Wed, Sep 9.

The City of Largo, in collaboration with The Friends of Pinellas Adult Drug Court, presents Art of Recovery, an exhibit featuring original artwork created by adults in recovery.

September is Recovery Month, and the artwork shares personal reflections on successfully moving through drug court and beyond, offering a glimpse into the recovery journey through the artists’ own words and creative expression.

The exhibit’s opening reception will take place on Tue, Sep 1, from 5-6pm at Horizon West Bay, followed by remarks from Judge Kimberly Todd at the Largo City Commission meeting at 6pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Art of Recovery will be on display at Horizon West Bay Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, Sep 1 through Sep 30. An additional exhibit will be available Monday-Friday at the Central Park Performing Arts Center.

Two new restaurants are coming to Horizon West Bay! 🎉

On Aug 18, the Largo City Commission approved leases for Bocelli Modern Italian and Dead Bob’s Bar & Restaurant at Horizon West Bay, bringing two Tampa Bay restaurant concepts to the City’s new mixed-use development in the heart of downtown.

The addition of the restaurants represents another milestone for Horizon West Bay and the City’s continued investment in creating a vibrant, active downtown destination. Both restaurants are expected to begin construction on their spaces and open in 2027.

The City of Largo has selected Nicholas H. Snyder as its next Chief of Police following a comprehensive national recruitment process. Snyder currently serves as Chief of Police for the City of Lancaster, Ohio, and brings more than 21 years of law enforcement experience.

Snyder will succeed Chief Mike Loux, who will retire on January 28, 2027, marking his 35th anniversary with the Largo Police Department. Chief Loux will continue leading the department during the transition.

The City is currently experiencing an issue at the IT Data Center. City facilities are currently open with limited services.

Essential City functions, including Police, Fire, trash, and recycling, remain in-service. If you need emergency assistance, please continue to call 9-1-1.

Other city facility phone lines are currently non-operational.

City Facilities
• Largo City Hall in Horizon West Bay is open with limited services. Permits, planning, and licenses through the Largo Civic Access Portal are currently unavailable. For questions, email [email protected].

• The Largo Public Library remains open with Team Members available in person, until further notice. Facility phone lines are not operational. Access to public computers and patron account services, including checking in items and placing holds, is currently unavailable in person. To find online library services, visit LargoPublicLibrary.org or download the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative app.

• Largo Recreation facilities currently remain open, with Team Members available in person for limited services. Classes and programs are available as scheduled. Recreation memberships and class registrations cannot be processed in person. To renew memberships or register for classes, visit PlayLargo.com.

• The Central Park Performing Arts Center remains open. Tickets are available for online purchase at LargoArts.com.
