Residential Burglary Investigation Leads to Apprehension of Six Juveniles
On June 16, 2026, officers from the West Side Regional Police Department responded to 155 Jackson Street for a reported residential burglary. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the residence had been forcibly entered and extensively ransacked. The property was secured, and the homeowner was notified.

A canvass of the surrounding area resulted in two juveniles being stopped and identified; however, officers were unable at that time to determine whether they were involved in the break‑in.

At approximately 2:10 AM, officers returned to the residence and encountered six juveniles actively attempting to break into the home. Three juveniles were located inside the residence, and three were found outside. All six were taken into custody without incident and transported to West Side Regional Police Headquarters.

The individuals taken into custody were all male juveniles between the ages of 13 and 17, including two juveniles who had been stopped earlier in the evening near the residence. While at Headquarters, the juveniles initially refused to provide identifying information. One 15‑year‑old male was confirmed to be a missing person from Edwardsville, Pennsylvania.

All juveniles were eventually identified, and their parents or guardians were notified. The group consisted of three juveniles from Wilkes‑Barre, two from Edwardsville, and one from Swoyersville, all under the age of 18. Each juvenile was released to a guardian.

Charges for Burglary and related offenses will be filed with the appropriate juvenile authorities"

Juvenile Disturbance at Pierogi Festival Leads to Two Arrests
On Saturday, June 12, 2026, officers of the West Side Regional Police Department were monitoring activities at the annual Pierogi Festival in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania, as part of planned safety and crowd‑management operations.

During the event, officers encountered several juveniles whose behavior had become disruptive to festival operations and the public. The juveniles were advised to leave the festival grounds; however, they refused to comply and were subsequently escorted from the park area.

As officers attempted to remove the individuals, the juveniles became increasingly disorderly, prompting additional juveniles nearby to engage in riotous behavior. At one point, one juvenile attempted to reenter the festival grounds after being removed and refused repeated commands to leave the premises. The individual was taken into custody and immediately began physically resisting officers, requiring physical restraint to ensure safety.

A second juvenile attempted to interfere with the arrest and became disorderly to the extent that officers were required to physically remove him from the area to prevent further escalation.

Both juveniles were taken into custody and transported to the West Side Regional Police Department for processing. They were later released to family members. Charges will be filed following completion of the investigation.
