Strong to severe storms will be possible both tonight and Tuesday evening. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats. Heavy rainfall under the most intense storms is also likely.

Severe storms, some significant, appear likely across portions of southwest and west central Kansas Saturday evening. Latest models indicate two areas of greater focus with the larger signal along/near the I-70 corridor. There is a secondary focus of a significant severe storm or two moving out of southeastern Colorado into far southwest Kansas in the evening. Even though some of the latest models show a relative minimum of risk from roughly Garden City to Dodge City on this map, ALL areas need to be prepared for severe weather Saturday evening. Have a plan of action if severe storms threaten your area and it is a good idea to have multiple sources for latest National Weather Service warning information.

Future track is showing a good chance of severe weather tonight around 10:00pm in the Larned area. We will be out storm spotting if things get serious. National weather Service reports chances of rain, sometimes heavy, up until 7:00am Sunday in some areas. Prepare for heavy rain, hail and wind.
