Cow Camp is Back!
If you or someone you know is involved in the beef industry, mark your calendar for Cow Camp on September 9–10, 2026, in Hays, Kansas!
This two-day, hands-on educational event is designed to give beef producers practical tools they can take home and put to work immediately. Through a combination of classroom sessions, live demonstrations, and small-group learning, participants will gain research-based knowledge while connecting with K-State specialists, industry professionals, and fellow producers.
Topics include:
- Beef cattle nutrition
- Growth-promoting implants
- Vaccine handling & cooler construction
- Neonatal calf care
- Reproductive management
- Meeting with your lender & agricultural finance
- Prescribed burning
- Fly & tick control
One of the highlights of Cow Camp is the hands-on experience. Participants will rotate through interactive stations to practice implanting techniques, build a vaccine cooler, learn calf care skills, and explore reproductive management—building confidence through real-world application.
