Thank you to the anonymous doner of 4 x 4 timbers left at our station. These timbers will be used for cribbing that is used on scene to stabilize vehicles or buildings to make areas safe to work and get at any patients. The gesture is appreciated and these will be put to use in short order!

Recently we trained with Gold Cross and Theda Star and learned each role that everyone plays in patient care. It gave firefighters and first responders a chance to see the vehicles up close.

A tough week for our fire department trying to get things into order to provide a celebration of life worthy of the years of service Chief Mathison gave to this community and surrounding communities. Our department focus was on what his girls wanted and honor their wishes. I want to thank everyone on our department for the perseverance under these difficult circumstances. To our Department Officers, Fire Fighters, EMS, and Auxiliary family for the time and effort put into this, while also having to deal with the loss of Chief Mathison. I am so proud of this group!

Our circle of our family was complete by representation of every area fire department and emergency responder service from the surrounding area and beyond - thank you for being with us brothers and sisters! When you are a part of the fire service, there is no shortage of those willing to help you get through it and assist with much of the planning to help honor our brother or sisters, and I have to recognize:

The honor guard team -- Nick Keator - Utica Fire, Luke Semrau- Green Bay Fire, Gene Prellwitz - Town of Buchanon Fire, and the other members of the honor guard for the many hours spent helping us prepare for this service.

Fire Chief Jay Roberts - Town of Utica Fire Department for help in emptying, dismantling and re-building of the hose deck for the procession. A long with many, many other areas of helping.

Fire Chief Scott Rieckmann - Town of Clayton from the initial page out to the finale procession, you were there. Also, so much behind the scenes work that personally took a lot off of our plate.

Village of Fox Crossing Fire Department for the Ariel Ladder for the flag.

Township coverage before, during, and after the events:
Town of Clayton Fire and EMS - Chief Scott Rieckmann and his team
Town of Buchanon - Assistant Chief Gene Prellwitz and his team
Hortonville-Hortonia Fire Department - Sam Van Lieshout and his team
Dale Fire & Rescue - Bob Wilkens and his team
Vinland Fire Department - Fire Chief Chris Anderson and his team

The outpouring of support to our department and offer of resources has been tremendous and greatly appreciated by our entire team. There were so many departments represented, I apologize if I did not make it around to you to thank you for coming to support the celebration of life for Chief Mathison. Deputy Chief - Tim Kempen

Below is a map of the route for Glen Mathison's procession. The procession will follow the church service on Friday at Grace Lutheran Church. It would be nice to see a lot of people out by the road by Station 43 and Station 44 where Chief served his community.
