The Poynor Fire Department, founded in 1975, is the 24-hour public safety agency protecting the citizens of Poynor and the surrounding areas from the dangers of fire and other disasters. The PFD also provides first-response emergency medical care and assists victims during a time of crisis. The agency is an all-volunteer organization consisting of 13 members, which are lead by a 4 member administr

ation. The department is governed by the commissioners of the Henderson County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 3. The agency currently operates 3 pieces of apparatus: Brush 5871, Brush 5872, and Engine 5850. The department also maintains a privately-owned watercraft for water-based issues. The PFD operates out of one station, based in downtown Poynor. In addition to firefighting, the PFD also provides the public with fire safety and prevention programs, conducts station tours, and makes many appearances and demonstrations at many community events and gatherings. From our family to yours, the Poynor Volunteer Fire Department wishes everybody a Happy Thanksgiving . Please stay safe during this holiday season and always think of the men and women who may be patrolling a beat, manning a fire station, driving an ambulance, or serving overseas that can't share this day with their families.

Even during the holidays, the Poynor Volunteer Fire Department is always ready to respond if you need us. Our volunteer firemen are dedicated through and through. As our motto states, we are the "Pride of Poynor", and "We Serve to Save".

October 25th- All are invited to come by the fire station in LaRue and meet the firefighters that serve the community. It is located on FM 607 near Loop 60. We will be serving free hamburgers from 11 AM to 4 PM. We look forward to seeing everyone!
