Dear LCPS Families,

Las Cruces Public Schools is pleased to share a free literacy resource available to all New Mexico families through a partnership between the New Mexico Public Education Department and Rally Reader.

Families with students in grades K–12 are eligible to receive a fully funded subscription to Rally Reader, an online reading platform that provides access to more than 50,000 books. The program allows students to practice reading aloud, receive instant feedback, track their progress, and build confidence as readers. According to the program information, Rally Reader is designed to support reading fluency and help students develop the skills necessary for long-term academic success.

We encourage families to explore this opportunity and take advantage of the reading resources available to support learning at home throughout the summer and beyond.

Las Cruces Public Schools will provide free breakfast and lunch for all children ages 1–18 from May 27 through July 10 at select school and community locations across Las Cruces.

• Lynn Middle School
• Jornada Elementary
• Monte Vista Elementary
• MacArthur Elementary
• Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center
• A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven
• East Mesa Community Center
🍳 Breakfast: 8–9:30 a.m.
🥪 Lunch: 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
⚠️ Meal sites will be closed June 19 and July 3.

SUMMER OPPORTUNITY!

Learning Games Lab – Summer 2026 at New Mexico State University, where students can build real-world graphic design skills while exploring creativity and technology.
In this hands-on program, students will learn the basics of graphic design and apply their skills by creating posters, presentations, and promotional materials for games. It’s a great way to develop both technical and creative skills that can be used in school and beyond.
