The City of Las Cruces is grateful for the continued partnership of state leaders who invest in regional collaboration and public safety training.

In partnership with the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office, the Las Cruces Police Department plans to develop a regional Emergency Vehicle Operations Course driving track to support law enforcement training across southern New Mexico. This project will provide a safe, compliant training environment that supports academy instruction and continuing education for officers throughout the region.

Thank you to Senator Crystal Diamond Brantley, Senator Joseph Cervantes, Senator Jeff Steinborn, and Representatives Doreen Gallegos, Rebecca Dow, and Sarah Silva for their combined support totaling more than $2 million.

During this year’s New Mexico legislative session, the City of Las Cruces respectfully requested funding support for projects that strengthen public safety and improve quality of life throughout our community. We are grateful to our legislative partners for supporting these important investments in Las Cruces.

Funding allocated during this year’s legislative session will support technology upgrades for the Las Cruces Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center, which provides critical support to officers actively responding to calls for service through real-time situational awareness and rapid suspect identification. These upgrades will enhance public safety operations and help create a safer community for residents and visitors alike.

Thank you to Senator Crystal Diamond Brantley for dedicating $100,000 toward Real Time Crime Center technology upgrades.
