The holidays can be incredibly beautiful… and incredibly heavy.
For anyone walking through grief this season, please remember this: you are allowed to move at your own pace. There is no “right” way to feel, no timeline you must follow, no expectation you have to meet.
Grief doesn’t disappear because lights go up or because traditions return. Sometimes the season brings a deeper ache, a quiet longing, or a mix of emotions that don’t make sense. And that’s okay.
Be patient with yourself.
Give yourself permission to rest, to cry, to laugh, to step back, or to lean in—whatever your heart needs. Healing isn’t linear, especially during the holidays.
And if the weight feels heavy, please reach out. Seek support from friends, family, community, or a mental health professional. You don’t have to hold everything alone.
You are doing the best you can.
You are human.
And you deserve compassion—especially from yourself.
