Happy Endowment Anniversary to the Charles T. Townley and Victor T. Roberts LGBTQIA+ Fund! 🏳️‍🌈

This fund provides grants to local LGBTQIA+ organizations in Doña Ana, Hidalgo, Lincoln, Luna, Otero, and Sierra counties, supporting programs that foster connection, community, and social support for q***r people of all ages. The fund also offers scholarships to LGBTQIA+ students attending higher education institutions within these counties.

We are deeply grateful to Charles T. Townley and Victor T. Roberts for their generosity, compassion, and vision for a more connected and supportive community.

Together, we can continue to create opportunities, strengthen support networks, and help build a brighter future for LGBTQIA+ individuals across Southern New Mexico!

A friendly reminder that CFSNM’s HandinHand grant application is still open! 💙

HandinHand brings local teens together to learn about philanthropy, grow their leadership skills, and create positive change through volunteerism, fundraising, and advocacy. Each year, the group gets to put those values into action by supporting local nonprofits doing meaningful work in our communities.

📅 Applications are open through September 11 at 5:00 PM
💰 Awards up to $1,500

Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations may request funding for:
✨ General operating support
✨ A specific project
✨ An emergency or greatest need

Preference will be given to organizations that create opportunities for youth to:
✨Collaborate with others
✨Volunteer and serve their community
✨Develop leadership skills

Public Meeting Announcement: New Mexico Economic Development Grant 📢

Join us for the 2026 Public Meeting to hear updates on 2026 projects and review the fund’s financials and investments.

Created in 2021 through a partnership between El Paso Electric, Infrastructure Investments Fund, and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, the New Mexico Economic Development (NMED) Grant has invested $5 million in economic development across Southern New Mexico. Each year, $1 million supports organizations focused on job creation, entrepreneurship, and import/export business development.

As August comes to an end, it’s a good time to take a moment to think about the future and the people, causes, and values that matter most to you. ❤

Whether you’re creating your first will or updating an existing plan, putting your wishes in writing can provide peace of mind and help ensure your plans reflect what matters most. Through our partnership with Giving Docs, community members have free access to a secure, easy-to-use platform for creating or updating wills, trusts, healthcare directives, powers of attorney, and more.

At Your CFSNM, we’ve seen the lasting impact thoughtful estate planning can have. Many of the scholarships, grants, and charitable funds strengthening Southern New Mexico today began with someone making a plan to leave a legacy of generosity.

While Make-A-Will Month may be coming to an end, planning for the future is important year-round. Through Your CFSNM, Giving Docs will continue to be available as a free resource to help you put your wishes in writing, protect what matters most, and create a lasting legacy.
