There’s something special about being a city in New Mexico.

In Las Cruces, we're reminded of it every day—in the Organ Mountains rising above the Mesilla Valley, in the traditions that bring us together, and in the culture, creativity, and community that help define our city.

Happy National New Mexico Day. ☀️❤️

The public is invited to view selected posters created by area fourth graders showing what they learned at the 12th Annual Children’s Water Festival.

Water festival is a springtime, by-invitation event that teaches 4th graders about the importance of water through hands-on activities and demonstrations.

Posters are on display at Las Cruces City Hall, 700 N. Main Street, on the first floor in the east hallway.

Please take the time to also view the “Water Is Life” mural that students and their teachers and other helpers created at the 12th Annual Children’s Water Festival this spring.

The City of Las Cruces is grateful for the continued partnership of state leaders who invest in infrastructure projects that improve safety and resilience for underserved neighborhoods.

Funding for the South Fork Moreno Arroyo regional stormwater detention pond will help mitigate flooding risks for communities near Elks Drive, Hatfield Road, Kennedy Road, and Moose Court. These improvements will strengthen drainage infrastructure and help protect residents from continued flood impacts during severe weather events.

Thank you to Jeff Steinborn for State Senate and Representative Angelica Rubio for supporting this project with a total of $1 million.

The City of Las Cruces is grateful for the continued partnership of state leaders who invest in transportation infrastructure and long-term economic growth.

The Mesa Grande Drive Extension will create an important north-south arterial connection between Highway 70, Interstate 25, and Interstate 10 while improving multimodal transportation options for pedestrians, transit users, and motorists. This project will improve accessibility, strengthen traffic connectivity, and support future economic development opportunities throughout the city.

Thank you to Representatives Sarah Silva, Nathan Small, Angelica Rubio, Joanne Ferrary, Doreen Gallegos, and Senator Carrie Hamblen for allocating more than $2 million toward this transformational roadway project.
