🚀✨ Tombaugh’s NASA Astro Summer Camp was out of this world! ✨🚀

This week, our young astronauts explored, discovered, created, and learned through hands-on STEM activities during the NASA Astro Summer Camp at Tombaugh Elementary. From exciting space-themed lessons to collaborative challenges, our students had an incredible time building their curiosity and love for science.

A huge thank you to our amazing teachers and staff who brought the experience to life each day. The smiles, laughter, and excitement in every session showed that the fun wasn’t just for the students—the teachers had a blast too! 🌟 ❤️ Amber Gonzales, Adriana Urueta, Mari Guerra

Children can receive a FREE spare pair of glasses with a current eyeglasses prescription.

Our 5th grade Gifted Education Destination Imagination state champion teams were honored at the LCPS Ceremony of Champions May 20th. The Unforgettables received 1st place in the Scientific Challenge as well as a Renaissance Award for additional creativity and technical ability in their presentation. The Lobsters received 1st place in the Engineering Challenge. We are extremely proud of our Comets and our Gifted teacher, Mrs. Nicah Johnson! ☄️ 💫

🌟 Thrive Thursday Spotlight 🌟

This week, we are proud to shine our Thrive Thursday spotlight on two incredible members of the Tombaugh Elementary School team: Registrar Yesenia Carrera and Head Secretary Olissa Hernandez Hill. At Tombaugh, Yesenia and Olissa are truly the heart of the school community. They are often the first smiles students, families, and staff see when they walk through the doors, greeting everyone with kindness, patience, and care.

While much of their work happens behind the scenes, their impact is felt throughout the entire campus. From keeping the school day running smoothly to supporting students in moments of need and helping families feel welcome and connected, Yesenia and Olissa go above and beyond every single day. Their dedication and commitment help create a school environment where everyone feels supported and where all learners can thrive.

Today, we welcomed our graduates back home to Tombaugh for our annual Senior Walk! 🎓☄️ Watching our former Comets return in their caps and gowns was such a special reminder to our students that big dreams truly begin here. We are so proud of each and every graduate and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish next. Once a Comet, always a Comet! 💙✨
