📵 Nevada’s hands-free driving law means your phone needs to stay out of your hand.
Nevada already prohibits drivers from texting, accessing the internet, or using a handheld cell phone while driving. That includes manually sending or reading messages and other non-voice communications.
The good news? Hands-free phone use is allowed, including hands-free calling and voice-operated GPS. Emergency calls are also permitted when stopping would be inadvisable, impractical, or dangerous.
Penalties can start at $50 for a first offense, rise to $100 for a second offense, and $250 for a third or subsequent offense within the applicable period; penalties can be doubled in work zones.
So whether you're driving down Las Vegas Boulevard, I-15, US-95, or through Reno and Sparks, the message is pretty simple:
Mount it, use hands-free controls, or leave the phone alone.
Nevada roads already have enough surprises without someone trying to turn the freeway into a moving group chat. 😂📱🚗
