We mourn the loss of our fallen officer, Austin. 💙🖤

It is with profound sadness that we honor the life and sacrifice of LVMPD Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Officer Abdelnabi was a 30-year-old Marine Corps veteran who dedicated his life to serving both his country and his community. After joining the LVMPD in November 2023, he was assigned to the Southeast Area Command, where his infectious laugh, larger-than-life personality, and genuine compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Above all, he cherished his wife, Sage, with whom he shared eight years of marriage.

On August 4, 2026, Officer Abdelnabi was tragically killed in the line of duty while responding to a call involving a person with a gun.

We ask our community to keep Officer Abdelnabi's family, friends, and our entire LVMPD family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. Officer Austin Abdelnabi's courage, selfless service, and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We will honor his legacy.

💜National Crime Victims’ Rights Week💜

As many of you may have seen, last week LVMPD Victim Services and the Southern Nevada Family Justice Center spent time educating about victims’ rights, presenting resources, and spending time with our community to highlight the importance of knowing your rights as a victim. We appreciate all of the community members who were able to attend and learn more about what resources are available and how to help someone in need.
