Dear Friends of Foster Kinship,
We have exciting news to share.
Foster Kinship has named Sara Colvin as its first President and CEO. Sara begins her role on June 16, 2026, and we could not be more confident in this next chapter.
Sara is a Las Vegas Valley resident and brings with her nearly 20 years of experience in organizational leadership and philanthropy. She is one of approximately 70 Certified Fund Raising Executives (CFRE) in Nevada and has a proven record of building strong systems, leading teams through growth, and securing meaningful investment for mission-driven organizations. She brings both professional expertise and personal connection to kinship care, and she is deeply committed to the families Foster Kinship serves.
Sara is building on an extraordinary foundation. Ali Caliendo founded Foster Kinship in 2010 with a clear belief: kids deserve family, and families deserve support. Over 16 years, she and her team grew the organization into a nationally recognized, evidence-based model that has served more than 24,000 children and helped reshape how kinship care is understood and supported across Nevada and the country.
Following a transition period supporting leadership onboarding, Ali will continue her connection to Foster Kinship as a contracted Strategic Advisor focused on national policy, systems change, Kinship University, and strategic expansion efforts.
Our important mission continues, and we are confident that it is in very good hands.
We invite you to join us soon for a community open house to welcome Sara and celebrate what Foster Kinship has built and where it is headed. Details to follow.
Thank you for being part of this community. Your belief in this work is what makes it possible.
Warmly,
Nancy Myster
On behalf of the Foster Kinship Board of Directors
