Dr. Lewis Shupe, Author of "Presidential Diary."
This will be DR. Shupe's second time as a Special Guest Speaker to our Group. And in the our almost twelve years as a political Group, I honestly haven't met anyone with with a firmer grasp of the Constitution of the United States of America. - and its 27 Amendments. The author came to a political awakening late in life, primarily because he kept asking himself “This wasn’t done in the past, so why are we doing this now?” He therefore decided to try to discover what was behind the frivolity at the federal level. He discovered that the federal government has been infected with a cancer and is doing something about that! Dr. Shupe is also the founder and CEO of the "United States Freedom Army" with "enlisted" members in all 50 states.

I am always very pleased when Ron Futrell says, "I'll be there," when I ask him to be a Speaker. He is without a doubt, the most frequent Special Guest Speaker in our history. Ron spent 30 years working as a TV Sports and News Anchor in Salt Lake City, Washington and in Las Vegas. Ron is a contributor to Andrew Breitbart's Big Journalism and Big Government news websites. He is also a freelance journalist who runs his own Marketing Company in Las Vegas.

As the Municipal elections are in JUne, we expect respective political and Judicial candidates to be present as well.

Rather than ask for a hefty membership fee, we ask instead for a $5 donation at sign-in to help pay our way. When you sign in, you are a member. It's as simple as that! Charlie's has a great kitchen menu. Service is top-notch and they are very happy to work with us to keep the costs down for our members. You can see that on the special menu on the table. Service begins at 5:30 and continues until meeting's end. Please plan on dining in.

Tenth, annual LVTYG Chroistmas Party - AND its Joy Boyd's Birthday! When I was hospitalized in March 2013, and others could have helped, as many of you know,only Joy had the wherewithal and courage to care enough to take over the LVRTG and keep it going. Thanks to her, - and only her, we are not only celebrating our 10th Anniversary this week, but it is also time for a very special Birthday celebration.

WHO?
Nevada Republican and US Congressman, DR. Joe Heck
Please come to welcome, greet and meet Congressman Joe Heck. I first met Dr. Heck when he was a Nevada State Senator. Dr. Heck was a supporter of the Las Vegas Republican Townhall Group in our early years, is an LVRTG member, a frequent speaker and always a crowd pleaser. In the 113th congress, the Heritage Foundation gave him a score of 67%, slightly below the Republican average of 70%. He also has the innate ability to welcome everyone he has ever met by their first name! Amazing!!
DR, Heck has distinguished himself in his first two terms as a "junior" Congressman and to be honest, I am expecting great things from him in the future. On a recent letter that I have copied and sent to all of you, he tells us that two Bills that he worked on in 2011 are headed to the President's desk for signature and both favor Nevada in particular. This November, DR Heck is facing Harry Reid, -and his protege, Democrat Erin Bilbray. I deliberately worded it this way because Ol' Scary is, as is his right, doing everything he can to oppose Nevada Republican candidates. A win by Joe Heck will be a blow to Harry Reid and I really, really like the way that sounds! Support Congressman Joe Heck and send him to Washington for his third term.

Nevada Republican, Dr, Annette Teijeiro for Congress, Congressional District 1.
Dr. Annette is well known to LVRTG members. She has been a very frequent speaker in the last three years and is too an LVRTG member. Dr. Annette has helped us understand the more unpleasant and inevitable ramifications of Obamacare - and not too amazingly, her predictions are proving absolutely correct! As a Nevada Republican Party candidate, she is opposing Democrat Dina Titus this November! Harry Reid is involved in this contest also.
This is but one of many reasons why we urge our members to vote for and support this LVRTG member in her quest to serve for a first term in the United States Congress along with Congressman Heck. Let's make it happen!

Dan Schwartz is a Republican candidate for the office of Treasurer for the state of Nevada.
During the past Primary season, I scheduled five Nevada Republican Party candidates each month from January to May. Why? We needed to elect as many Republicans as possible to Nevada State government. It's just that simple! A casual look around this country formerly known as the United States of America is all that one needs to see how the Democrat Party run by Valarie Jarrett, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and yes, our old pal, Harry Reid have desecrated this country that we all grew up in. Let's get rid of Democrats in November and we do this by getting off our fat, American butts and voting!
Dan Schwartz did a great job of describing his intent to administer the office of Treasurer. He answered all questions from our members with aplomb and I was very impressed with the applause that he received from us. Come to meet, great, listen to and ask questions of Dan Schwartz so when you pull that lever in November you do so from an educated and informed perspective!

Matthew Yarbrough is a 2014 Newvada Republican candidate for District 14 of the Nevada State Assembly.
Those of us who were Clark County Republican Party ( CCRP ) members and volunteers over the past ten, twelve years know Matt well. Like me and many others, Matt was a volunteer who gave up much of his personal time to do what we all could to make a difference! Matt served in a variety of roles including Precinct Captain, He and his wife Melody Howard were and are LVRTG members for many years and both are currently very active in the current CCRP.
After the way the Democrats have determinedly steered this country and Nevada in a socialist direction, it's now our turn to put an end to this treason by voting "RIGHT"this November! We need someone who has paid his dues. We need another strong Nevada Republican and LVRTG member in the Assembly. Matt is the man to vote for! Support him by electing him to his first term in Nevada's Assembly.

All of our speakers have the opportunity to include a Q&A with their presentations. Our goal has always been to provide our members a chance to learn about our Nevada Republican Party candidates by asking questions. Please be polite and keep your questions germane to the subject! Because of time limitations we must limit you to two questions, so please plan accordingly.

WHERE?
This is also the beginning of our fifth year meeting at Charlie's Lakeside. During that time we have been unable to find a another suitable venue with a better kitchen, better prices and more importantly, better service. Please plan on dining in. Waite service is available from 5:30 to the end of our meetings. We have collaborated with Charlies on the menu to keep the prices down as much as possible. Tips are included in all food pricing. there is no need to leave a tip! You are on your own when it comes to drinks. Charlie's is located on the southwest corner of West Sahara and Durango.

Always on the second Wednesday, at 7PM

Lastly we have never charged a membership fee. When you attend a meeting for the first time and sign in, you are automatically a member. That isn't to say that we don't have expenses. We do. These include meal expenses for our Speakers as well as other costs. So we ask for a $5.00 donation when you sign in to make sure that we can come back again next month. Thank you.

Some of you know me as the Chairman of the Las Vegas Republican Townhall Group. As such, I am perhaps more attuned to politics than most. To my surprise and perhaps the co-founders too, we are now ten years old! Truly amazing.

The national Republican Party is, as usual, having unity problems and the MainScream Media is having a field day with that but, let me say that the Party - in my opinion of course - is not attacking the Constitution - as the Democrats are - it is not blatantly intent on turning this country into a Socialist state - as the Democrats are - it much prefers the country that we all grew up in - as the Democrats apparently do not.

It's time to take this beautiful country back - and we only have 94 more days left to do it. So, get informed. Have an idea why you will vote in November and for who. Once you've done that, then get involved! We can help you with that. Thank you-

Please welcome Author Lewis Shupe. Lewis Shupe retired in 2001 after 30 years in computer systems design, and 8 years as owner of a computer service company. Dr Shupe holds degrees from both Stanford and the University of Southern California. After retirement he enjoyed golf and eventually decided to become an author. You won't want to miss his topic for the meeting. "Money and the Federal Reserve System".

Book Signing! Presidential Diary II by Author Lewis Shupe - Last chance before Armageddon is the sequel to Presidential Diary. It reveals the personal diary of Morton M. Monroe from the period January 2023 to January 2024 and is a continuation of his actions in his first term as President of the United States. While Presidential Diary dealt primarily with problems internal to the United States and North America, Presidential Diary II is more international and theoretical in nature and delves into the root problems leading to the nation being brought to the brink of collapse in the year 2020. FORMAT: We follow Robert's Rules of Order. This allows each speaker adequate time to give an important and meaningful presentation without interruption. Teleprompters are not available so when a speaker loses his or her place when interrupted, this can be very confusing. We do allow for Q&A after their presentation. Please ask those important questions not statements during the Q&A. Depending upon time constraints and number of speakers, we may ask that you be limited to one question. Meetings after an election, especially after this last disaster on November 6th are ussually not very well attended. So we weren't expecting much last night. But our Web Mistress, Happy Haseley crafted another dyn-o-mite meeting notice and 'voila' we had pretty to a full house.

Barbara Cegavske and Greg Brooks gave remarkably different presentations, Both were very well received and when I asked everybody if we could bring them back we got a resounding yes!

Lately I have become more and more concerned about the 2016 elections. I am wondering if, in the end we lose that freedom too. Obama and Biden want to gut the 2nd ammendment with another patented "Executive Order" and they've already began to miniumize the 1st Amendment and now I am expecting similar attacks on the 22nd Amendment. For those 'not in the know' that's the Amendment to the Consitution of the United States of America that limits the president to two terms - and ONLY two terms.

LET'S TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK TO THE ONE WE ALL GREW UP IN!

So I am suggessting that THE LVRTG and the local Tea Party Groups in Las Vegas organzie a rally. Dave Gibbs suggested February 18th - President's Day - but I think we need more time to organize this and I still like April 15 or the day after which would be a Saturday.

If those reading this who are Tea Party Connected can contact their National Tea Party contacts it would be helpful. Please let me know if you get a response.

Please welcome Nevada Republican State Senator Barbara Cegavske. Cegavske attended Mayo High School in Rochester, Minnesota. She then attended Clark County Community College in Las Vegas. Cegavske was a Franchise Owner of 7-Eleven from 1984 to 1996. She then worked as Director of Development for WestCare Foundation from 2000 to 2003. Cegavske is currently a Consultant. Cegavske served in the Nevada State Assembly from 1997 to 2001. She served as Assistant Minority Whip in 1997. She then joined the Nevada State Senate in 2002. She has served in that position since, representing the Clark 8 District. In 2005 and 2007 Cegavske served as Chair of Legislative Operations and Elections and during the recent 75th Legislation Session served as Senate Minority Whip. During that session, Cegavske did not support the sales tax hike, increased vehicle registration fees, nor the payroll tax hike.
