The Neighborhood Justice Center (NJC) was created in 1991 to provide dispute resolution for Clark County residents, businesses, and organizations. The NJC’s role is set out in section 244.1607 of the Nevada Revised Statues (NRS) and includes the provision of mediation and conflict resolution services, information and referral and training as core responsibilities. The Neighborhood Justice Center has been the recipient of the Point of Light Award which was launched by President George H. W. Bush along with many other state commendations. We have partnered with numerous organizations including Nellis Air Force Base, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, UNLV Boyd School of Law, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Animal Control, and other governmental agencies, organizations, and businesses. Through the opportunity to provide training, conduct mediation and facilitations, and quickly intervene when requested, NJC ties to the community continue to be strengthened.
The NJC continues to utilize and develop innovative and effective programs such as the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Police Citizen Mediation Juvenile Victim Offender Mediation and Housing Mediation.
