Welcome Ya’Tishia Jones!

This wonderful smile belongs to Ya’Tishia Jones, the NJC’s newest staff member. Ya’Tishia comes to us from Justice Court Administration following her selection to replace Anna Stein who recently transferred to Domestic Violence Court.

Ya’Tishia worked her way up through the ranks of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Los Angeles International Airport and left the agency as a supervisor after eight years’ service (with a thousand and one interesting stories to tell!). She moved to Nevada when her fiancé, Bryce, accepted a position as a juvenile probation officer in Las Vegas.

The mother of a one-year old daughter and a nine-year old son, Ya’Tishia just celebrated her 28th birthday. She says “I’m happy to become part of the NJC family and am looking forward to building rapport with the team.” Please welcome and introduce yourself to Ya’Tishia when you next visit the NJC. We wish her and Anna all the best in their new endeavors!

General information

The Neighborhood Justice Center (NJC) was created in 1991 to provide dispute resolution for Clark County residents, businesses, and organizations. The NJC’s role is set out in section 244.1607 of the Nevada Revised Statues (NRS) and includes the provision of mediation and conflict resolution services, information and referral and training as core responsibilities. The Neighborhood Justice Center has been the recipient of the Point of Light Award which was launched by President George H. W. Bush along with many other state commendations. We have partnered with numerous organizations including Nellis Air Force Base, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, UNLV Boyd School of Law, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Animal Control, and other governmental agencies, organizations, and businesses. Through the opportunity to provide training, conduct mediation and facilitations, and quickly intervene when requested, NJC ties to the community continue to be strengthened. The NJC continues to utilize and develop innovative and effective programs such as the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Police Citizen Mediation Juvenile Victim Offender Mediation and Housing Mediation. Why should I try mediation? Approximately 76% of mediated disputes result in a written agreement. Mediated agreements are more likely to be fulfilled than court orders. There is no cost. We are ready to mediate when you are. We can schedule a mediation at a safe convenient location. Mediations are conducted privately and confidentially.
