WNC marked its largest graduating class and largest Jump Start class, a milestone that reflects the power of community colleges to open doors for students at every stage of life.

As President J. Kyle Dalpe said, for many students, community college is “where dreams begin, where second chances are embraced, where careers are launched and their lives are changed.”

Men’s Health Month is a reminder that prevention, early care and access to trusted health professionals can make a real difference.

That matters in Nevada, where communities across the state continue to need more doctors, nurses, behavioral health providers, dental professionals and other health care workers.

We’re proud of the work happening across the NSHE system to help prepare the health professionals Nevada needs today and for the future.

This National Higher Education Day, we're proud to highlight recent nursing graduate Lupe Santiago. Through hard work, perseverance, and additional support from WNC, Santiago is achieving her dreams and is returning to her hometown Fallon, Nevada to care for others.

“Throughout the program, WNC not only prepared us academically and clinically, but also taught us the importance of serving and giving back to our communities. The instructors and clinical instructors challenged us to grow, think critically, and prepare us to care for patients in many different settings."

Santiago's journey is a powerful reminder of the possibilities that higher education creates, empowering students to make a lasting impact where they live and work. Read more about her story here: https://wnc.edu/news/fallon-grad-lupe-2026.php
