Engine 44 and Rescue 103 were dispatched to reports of a female in labor in a flood channel tunnel.  Upon arrival medics were presented a baby wrapped in a sweatshirt.  Firefighters quickly tended to mother and baby, clamping and cutting the umbilical cord, and both were transported in stable condition to the hospital. Great work E44 and R103!

25 YEARS OF REMEMBRANCE

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 – SEPTEMBER 11, 2026

Twenty-five years ago, 343 firefighters answered the call and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Their courage, dedication, and commitment to service continue to inspire firefighters across this nation and throughout our profession.

On September 11, 2026, Las Vegas will host the West Coast 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial and Remembrance Ceremony.

Local 1285 is seeking active members and retirees to proudly represent our union, our department, and the fire service as we honor those who gave everything.

WE NEED:

• Active Members
• Retired Members
• Honor Guard Participants
• Ceremony Volunteers
• Members Who Want to Help Preserve the Legacy of 9/11

This is more than a ceremony.

It is an opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with firefighters from across the nation and ensure that the sacrifices of September 11, 2001 are never forgotten.

WE REMEMBER.
