Tonight, our community gathered at Police Memorial Park to honor Officer Austin Abdelnabi, whose courage and selfless service will never be forgotten.

Family, friends, fellow officers, fire, rescue, EMS teams, and neighbors stood as one, remembering a life dedicated to protecting others.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this vigil together and to all who showed up in support. The sea of blue, the candlelight, and the quiet strength in every embrace served as a reminder that Officer Abdelnabi’s legacy will live on.

We’re deeply grateful to every law enforcement partner, our fire, rescue, and EMS teams, and everyone who stands on the front lines and behind the scenes. Thank you for your unwavering support and care.

We’ll remember his service, honor his sacrifice, and continue to stand with his family and all who serve beside them.

Today, Southeast Area Command would like to take a moment to thank everyone for the overwhelming support shown to our officers and civilian staff following the tragic loss of Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️

Austin was a Marine Corps Veteran, a valued LVMPD officer, a devoted husband, a beloved son, brother, and friend. His service, dedication, and character touched countless lives, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.

As a community, we will grieve this tremendous loss together. Please know that the officers and professional staff of Southeast Area Command remain committed to continuing the work Austin so proudly dedicated his life to—serving and protecting our community with honor, compassion, and integrity.

It is with profound sadness that we honor the life and sacrifice of LVMPD Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Officer Abdelnabi was a 30-year-old Marine Corps veteran who dedicated his life to serving both his country and his community. After joining the LVMPD in November 2023, he was assigned to the LVMPD Southeast Area Command, where his infectious laugh, larger-than-life personality, and genuine compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Above all, he cherished his wife, Sage, with whom he shared eight years of marriage.

On August 4, 2026, Officer Abdelnabi was tragically killed in the line of duty while responding to a call involving a person with a gun.

We ask our community to keep Officer Abdelnabi's family, friends, and our entire LVMPD family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. Officer Austin Abdelnabi's courage, selfless service, and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We will honor his legacy.

Nina has consistently demonstrated the true spirit of giving by providing food and refreshments for numerous community events, helping bring residents, officers, and community partners together. Her generosity and willingness to support neighborhood gatherings create welcoming spaces where relationships are strengthened and community bonds continue to grow.

Through her kindness and dedication, Nina has made a meaningful difference in the success of many Southeast Area Command events. Her contributions help foster a sense of unity, partnership, and pride throughout the Southeast Las Vegas community.
