MI VOZ ES MI PODER

Octubre es el mes para generar conciencia sobre la violencia doméstica.

Para Kristian, sobreviviente de violencia doméstica, encontrar su voz fue un paso fundamental para recuperar el control de su vida. Su mensaje merece ser escuchado: “Mi voz es mi poder”.

La violencia doméstica suele seguir un ciclo de promesas incumplidas y agresiones repetidas. La valentía de Kristian nos recuerda la importancia de reconocer las señales de alerta, buscar apoyo y saber que hay ayuda disponible.

No estás sola o solo. Mereces sentirte segura o seguro. Tu voz importa.

El Departamento de la Policía Metropolitana de Las Vegas (LVMPD) está comprometido a apoyar a las personas sobrevivientes de violencia doméstica a través de nuestro Centro de Justicia Familiar del Sur de Nevada y la Unidad de Servicios para Víctimas de LVMPD.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

For survivor Kristian, finding her voice was a powerful step toward reclaiming her life. Her message is one worth hearing again: “My voice is my power.”

Domestic violence often follows a cycle of broken promises and repeated harm. Kristian's courage reminds us of the importance of recognizing the warning signs, seeking support, and knowing that help is available.

You are not alone. You deserve to feel safe. Your voice matters.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is committed to supporting survivors through our Southern Nevada Family Justice Center and LVMPD Victim Services Unit.

From serving the Northeast community as cadets to proudly wearing the LVMPD badge!

Before entering the academy, Officer Delgado and Officer Chavez served our Northeast community with dedication, always eager to assist officers, respond to calls, and learn along the way.

Today, we proudly congratulate them on graduating from the LVMPD Police Academy! 🎓👏 A special recognition to Officer Delgado for serving as a Squad Leader during the academy.

Both Officers have already made a lasting impact on our community, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!

Northeast showed up strong for National Night Out!

Bob Price Park was filled with music, food, games, laughter, and plenty of good conversations between officers and the neighbors they serve. Nights like this give everyone a chance to slow down, meet face-to-face, and enjoy the community beyond the uniform.

Familia Friday | Officer Gomez

This week, we’re proud to spotlight Officer Gomez and the family, culture, and traditions that have shaped who he is today.

With family roots in Jalisco, Mexico 🇲🇽, Officer Gomez shares how being together with family, making tamales during the holidays 🫔, and sharing experiences have helped keep him connected to his heritage.

For Officer Gomez, serving Northeast also feels personal. Being able to serve a community with similar backgrounds and languages allows him to connect with the people he serves in a meaningful way.

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we’re proud to continue celebrating the stories, traditions, and cultures represented within our Northeast family. 💙

Esta semana nos enorgullece destacar al Oficial Gomez y a la familia, cultura y tradiciones que han ayudado a formar la persona que es hoy.

Con raíces familiares en Jalisco, México 🇲🇽, el Oficial Gomez comparte cómo pasar tiempo en familia, preparar tamales durante las fiestas 🫔 y compartir experiencias lo han ayudado a mantenerse conectado con sus raíces.

Para el Oficial Gomez, servir a la comunidad del Noreste también tiene un significado especial. Poder servir a una comunidad con experiencias y un idioma en común le permite crear una conexión más cercana con las personas a quienes sirve.

Al concluir el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, nos enorgullece seguir celebrando las historias, tradiciones y culturas que forman parte de nuestra familia del Noreste. 💙

CURFEW ⏰

Heading downtown? Know the hours before you go, especially for First Friday.

For unaccompanied minors under 18, the downtown enhanced curfew is 9 p.m.–5 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, legal holidays and New Year’s Eve.

This enhanced area applies to the downtown section bordered by Maryland Parkway, Bridger Avenue, Main Street and Stewart Avenue, shown on the map, including the Fremont Street Experience.

Elsewhere in the City of Las Vegas, school-year curfew hours are:
✔️ Sunday–Thursday: 10 p.m.–5 a.m.
✔️ Friday–Saturday: midnight–5 a.m.

During CCSD summer vacation and school holidays, general curfew hours are midnight–5 a.m. Parents and guardians: know your child’s plans and location. Go together. Stay together.

Exceptions include accompaniment by a parent, guardian or adult with legal care, custody and control, or being on lawful business or engaged in a lawful occupation. A city special-event permit must specifically waive LVMC 10.54.015 for the general citywide curfew to apply instead.

Curfew violations may result in a citation, fines, being escorted out of the area, or being detained while a parent or guardian is contacted. Parents and guardians may also face penalties for allowing a child to violate curfew.
