LET'S CONTINUE MEETING THE CAST OF "TEACHER OF THE YEAR"!
Matt Martello (Hey! That's me! And I'll be speaking in the 3rd person...)
Matt is a long time actor, director, producer and playwright hailing from the Chicagoland area (Marengo and Park Ridge if you're keeping score). He was a high school Drama, English, Speech and Video Production teacher for 15 years in Ohio and Michigan. Matt moved to Vegas in 2012, essentially pressing 'reset' on his life. Since then, he founded M-WIL PRODUCTIONS OF LAS VEGAS, a grassroots theater company 100% focused on producing original works, largely his own. M-WIL has performed all over the valley, including LVLT's Fringe Fest multiple times, the $2/10 Minute Play Series at 1st Fridays at Cockroach Theater (now Vegas Theatre Co.) and their rehearsal/performance space in Henderson.
He has written well over 200 plays, ranging from 5 minutes to full length. His 10-minute play "Wasted Words" (formerly "Have A Nice Day") was performed at the THEATRE MADNESS FESTIVAL in NYC in June of 2013 (the Garment District, folks, 36th and 9th Ave., but hey! It's still NYC). His works have also been performed in Chicago, the Cleveland area, upstate New York, and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
This will be the 3rd time Matt has performed as Principal Ron Frasier. The previous 2 times were with his Michigan students alongside his father's students in "A Touch Of Class" in July of 2012, and also with his Champions from the Madison High School Drama Club (Madison, Ohio) in "Time Capsule" in October of 2018 (a wonderful reunion 17 years in the making). He hopes that lots of people will experience "Teacher Of The Year" at FALL OUT FRINGE in June.
