Retirement Announcement! ๐ŸŽ‰

After more than 12 years of dedicated service to the city of Las Vegas Department of Public Safety, we proudly celebrate the retirement of Lucretia Schroyer (P #1109).

Since December 9, 2013, Lucretia has served as a DPS Communications Specialist, providing dedication and support to the community we serve. Over her 12 years of service, she has been an essential part of our team, helping ensure effective communication and public safety operations every day.

Public service runs deep in the Schroyer family. Lucretiaโ€™s husband and stepson both serve as Corrections Sergeants at the Las Vegas Detention Center, making her retirement a celebration not only of her accomplishments but also of a family committed to serving the citizens of Las Vegas.

As Lucretia begins this exciting new chapter, we thank her for her years of service and commitment to excellence. We wish her a retirement filled with happiness, relaxation and treasured time with family and friends. ๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš”

๐Ÿšจ Heading to First Friday? Know the curfew rules for minors:

CITYWIDE CURFEW (under 18, unless accompanied by a parent/guardian) โฐ
โ€ข Summer break/School holidays: 12 a.m.โ€“5 a.m.
โ€ข School year: 10 p.m.โ€“5 a.m. (Sunโ€“Thurs) and 12 a.m.โ€“5 a.m. (Friโ€“Sat)

FREMONT STREET ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT ๐ŸŒƒ
On Fridays, Saturdays and holidays, unaccompanied minors are subject to an enhanced curfew from 9 p.m.โ€“5 a.m.

What does this mean for First Friday? ๐ŸŽจ
First Friday takes place in the Arts District- not inside the Fremont Street curfew zone.
However, if your plans include heading to Fremont Street, minors should be aware of the earlier 9 p.m. curfew restrictions in that area.

Some Fremont Street concerts and special events may receive permits that suspend the enhanced curfew, but attendees should check event details in advance.

Parents: Know your teen's plans, discuss curfew times and arrange transportation ahead of time.

Stay safe and plan ahead. โœจ

๐Ÿšจ What does it take to perform under pressure?

These officers aren't just learning techniques... they're training to make critical decisions in fast-moving, high-stress situations where communication, control and composure matter most.

Using strategic training scenarios, our officers face realistic resistance and dynamic encounters designed to test their skills, confidence and ability to stay focused when it counts.

Every drill and every challenge help prepare them for the realities of the profession and the responsibility of protecting their communities. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Throughout the month of May, and especially today on Memorial Day, members of the DPS Honor Guard have had the privilege of representing our agency at events dedicated to honoring fallen law enforcement officers and remembering all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’™

From standing alongside agencies across the country to supporting our local law enforcement partners here in Nevada, these moments remind us of the importance of service, sacrifice and never forgetting those who came before us.

We honor their legacy today and every day.
