UNLV Young Democratic Socialists Young Democratic Socialists is the student section of the Democratic Socialists of America. We believe that no one’s material needs should go unmet.

We organize at UNLV to fight for the needs of workers and students while building our capacity to fight for more radical and structural changes in the long term. As a group of leftist organizers and civil actors, we recognize that corporations, the finance industry and private interests stripped working people’s political power. The greed and unchecked power of the elite sent economic inequality s

oaring to historic heights, threatening the very stability of our nation. We reject the violence of the status quo and the oppression the masses. We are socialists, feminists and anti-racists who share a positive vision for a better, fairer world. To dismantle inequity and restructure our political-economy, we hope to empower everyday people like you to fight for change through campaigns and educational initiatives. Together we can impact our community for the better and fulfill our nation’s promise of democracy. Join us to help fight for liberty and justice for all!

UNLV Young Democratic Socialists Bylaw Ratification

We invite all members of Young Democratic Socialists to join us as we officially become a Campus Section! We will be debating, voting on, and ratifying our by-laws. All dues-paying members will get a vote, and will be eligible to receive a free copy of the Jacobin's the "ABCs of Socialism." Student memberships are $20/year https://dsausa.nationbuilder.com/join. Food and drinks will be provided.

YDS member speaks in support of SB407 in the State Legislature to create Green Banks and finance affordable clean energy/energy efficient home improvements. Green Banks are a successful way for Nevadans to make energy efficient improvements to their home and save thousands of dollars a year on their utility bill.

Green Banks have been implemented in states like HI, CT, CA, NY, NJ and RI! Let's get the ball rolling in NV!
