🚲 Congratulations to the officers who recently earned their Bike Patrol Certification.

Bike patrol provides officers with a unique way to engage with the community, increase visibility on campus, and proactively address safety concerns in areas not easily reached by vehicle.

K9 Astra understood the assignment: show up, sit pretty, and accept all the summer love. 🐾

Surrounded by new friends and plenty of pets, Astra was clearly the star of the day. Moments like these are always a great reminder of the connection our K9 team helps build with the community.

We think she knows exactly how loved she is.

Last week, all UPD supervisors participated in the first session of Real Colors®, a professional development program focused on strengthening communication, leadership, and team collaboration.

Real Colors helps participants better understand their own personality style and the perspectives of others through a four-color framework designed to improve workplace relationships, communication, and teamwork. The training provides practical tools that can be applied both professionally and personally to foster stronger connections and more effective leadership.

This was the first of a three-part series that will continue over the next three months as our supervisors invest in developing the skills needed to lead, communicate, and collaborate effectively across our department.

One final radio call. 📻💙

Last week, UPD said farewell to Deputy Chief Tod Miller as he retired after a distinguished career in law enforcement, including service with UPD since 2019.

The photos captured more than a retirement. From hugs and handshakes to his final radio sign-off, it was a meaningful sendoff surrounded by colleagues, friends, and family.

Thank you, Deputy Chief Miller, for your years of service and commitment to the profession.

We wish you happiness, good health, and many new adventures in the years ahead.

Congratulations on your retirement, Deputy Chief. Enjoy this next chapter. 👏

Building global connections through education, leadership, and public safety 🌎

CSO Dan had the opportunity to participate in a special presentation for delegates from Colombia’s General Rafael Reyes Prieto War College.

The visit included discussions on criminal justice, emergency and crisis management, student cadet programs, security studies, and international collaboration.

Thank you to UNLV Global and our campus partners for creating a meaningful exchange of knowledge and perspectives.
