🚜 🌽 🌾 We’re in the heart of fall harvest here in Kansas, and that means it’s a busy time for Kansas farmers! Take the time to thank our farmers for what they provide to our state and beyond 🚜 🌽 🌾

It’s also a great time to remind everyone to , and use caution and patience when traveling around farm trucks, tractors, combines, and other implements.

These safety tips can help keep yourself and Kansas farmers safe:

🚜 Slow down if you see the orange/red slow moving vehicle emblem

🚜 Increase your following distance

🚜 Be patient! Don’t assume the farmer can easily and safely move aside to let you pass.

🚜 Use extra caution when passing. Never pass if you are approaching a curve, bridge, hill, intersection, or railroad crossing.

Always remember to share the road, be patient, be cautious, and be a courteous driver. Being a safe driver can help keep yourself and our Kansas farmers safe!

It's a busy time for farmers in Kansas with wheat harvest beginning! The Kansas Highway Patrol would like to remind drivers to , use caution, and have patience when traveling around farm trucks, tractors, combines, and other farm implements.

Here are some essential tips to help keep everyone safe!

🌾 SlowDown if you see the orange/red slow-moving vehicle emblem.
🌾Increase your following distance.
🌾Be patient! Don't assume that a farmer can move aside to let you pass. Farmers have to assess the road for an area that can support the weight of the equipment without causing it to tip over.
🌾Use extra caution when passing. Never pass while approaching curves, hills, bridges, intersections, or railroad crossings.

Always remember to share the road, be patient, and be a cautious, courteous driver! Being a safe driver can help keep yourself and our Kansas farmers safe!

Prayers to the family and fire family! RIP!

Colleagues described him as “selfless, dedicated and always put others before himself.”

A term that has been used in recent case studies, research briefs, and seminars - "There is no future without smoke."

We live surrounded by ecosystems that require fire to be maintained and remain healthy. Either we use prescribed fire as a tool to preserve those ecosystems, or wildfire (either natural or human-caused) makes an attempt to preserve those ecosystems.

Which do you prefer?
