Parents, if your child failed a class 1st semester or if it looks like they are going to fail a class 2nd semester you can go ahead and enroll them in our in-house summer school program at LHS. It will start on Monday. This is a great way to recover high school credits and NOT have to retake the entire class again. Mr. Mudd will be running the high school credit recovery program so if you have any questions you can contact him at [email protected] or feel free to call the high school office at 816-710-6116 and Mrs. Hutchcraft or Mr. Bowers can give you more information. Click the following link to register. Thank you. Mr. Bowers https://forms.gle/XrP8FhxEpiC8sqRH9

It was a great day at the sectional track meet in Higginsville yesterday. Jesse James stamped his ticket to the state tournament in the 110 hurdles. The girls 4x200 set a PR with a time of 1:47 and will also be headed to the state tournament. Members of that relay are Jade Hadley, Addi King, Aubrey Schrunk, and Rheagan Hall. September Ingerson will be headed to state in the high jump with matching her PR yesterday. Jade Hadley qualified as well in the 100m and 200m sprint. She’s got some wheels! Jade also set a PR in the 200! Lastly, Rheagan Hall set a PR by shaving off 2 seconds in the 400 m and making her way to the state tournament! Congrats to all the kids yesterday. They worked hard. Also congrats to all the coaches. Coach Mudd, you and your staff have these girls peaking at the right time! You are doing an amazing job as always! Now let’s go get some state medals next week! !

Words can’t express how proud I am of this young man. I’ve personally witnessed how hard Garrett Beane works in the practice room. He’s willing to workout with any wrestler in the room regardless of weight. He fears no one. He’s confident yet humble. If he wins he wins with class. The few times I’ve seen him lose a match he picks himself up faster than most kids can and moves forward to become better. This kid is going to do great things! Garrett, thank you for your leadership at LHS. Good luck at Morgan State and it’s been an honor to not only be your principal but to also be your coach! (Sorry about the pics of Sammy Duff and friends….thats what happens when you ask Sammy to take pictures for you!)
