Fire Prevention Week may be coming to a close, but fire safety is important year-round! 🚒

Before we wrap up the week, we wanted to share a few of our favorite fire safety tips. These simple reminders can make a big difference in keeping you, your family, and your home safe.

We’re proud to share that three members of our command staff - Fire Chief David Bramell, Assistant Fire Chief Derrick Thomas and Division Chief Keith Conner, are joining the Lathrop Rotary!

The Rotary does incredible work throughout our community and we’re excited to be part of a group that shares our passion for service and giving back.

We all do it… we plug in our phones and electronic devices and move on with our day BUT where and how we charge them matters!

For Fire Prevention Week, here’s a quick reminder: use the right charger, keep charging devices off beds and couches and unplug them when they’re fully charged.

And if you’re reading this knowing you charge your phone under a pillow… we’re talking to you! 👀

Stop using batteries that are damaged, bulging, unusually hot or giving off a strange smell. They need proper disposal through a battery recycling or household hazardous waste program, NEVER in your regular trash.

The San Joaquin County Hazardous Waste Facility to dispose of your out of service batteries is located at 7850 Bridgeford Street (behind the Stockton Airport). This facility is open to the public, free of charge for San Joaquin residents, Thursday - Sunday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

TOMORROW is the big day! 🚒

Our Annual Open House is almost here and Smokey is already warming up his dance moves.

Come hang out with us, meet your local firefighters, watch live demonstrations, grab a hot dog, and bring the little ones out for some fun!

LATHROP - OCT 1, 2026, 4:54 PM. Units are on scene of a vehicle versus tractor-trailer at southbound I-5, south of Louise Avenue. The tank vehicle (carrying flammable liquid product) is not leaking or posing a ongoing hazard. One patient was treated for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital. Firefighters treated the patient and removed the vehicle from the trailer. Traffic impacts are expected to remain for the next hour or more. CHP remains on scene.

Happy National Coffee Day!

Coffee is pretty much a staple around here fueling our crews between calls, keeping our admin team going on busy days and making early mornings a little easier.

Whether it's brewed at the station, grabbed from one of our local coffee spots or reheated for the third time because something came up... coffee is definitely part of the routine around here.

Here's to the unofficial fuel of the fire service! ☕️🚒🔥

There is a heavy smell of smoke in the Lathrop area due to a fire to our West in the unprotected county area near Willow Glen and Undine Road. French Camp McKinley Fire District is handling the incident and there is no threat to our local community.
