🚨 The Importance of Smoke Detectors 🚨

Smoke detectors save lives. In a fire, you may have less than 2–3 minutes to get out safely. Working smoke alarms provide the early warning you need to escape.

🔥 Install smoke alarms:
• Inside every bedroom
• Outside sleeping areas
• On every level of your home

🔋 Test your alarms monthly
🔋 Change batteries at least once a year (or when they chirp)
🔁 Replace the entire unit every 10 years

Most fatal fires happen at night while families are sleeping. A working smoke detector can mean the difference between life and death.

If you need assistance with acquiring a smoke detector or installation or have questions, contact the Unity Township Bureau of Fire by sending a message to the page. We’re here to help keep our community safe

Not even two months in 2026, and Pennsylvania leads the nation in deadly fires.
