Why do property taxes matter locally? This video highlights how propertyโ€‘tax dollars fund vital local services, from first responders to parks and infrastructure. keeping our community thriving.
As the Legislature debates eliminating nonโ€‘school property taxes on homesteaded homes, many local officials warn that such cuts could blow holes in city and county budgets. Floridaโ€™s propertyโ€‘tax revenue has already jumped from $32 billion (2019) to $60 billion (2025). Cutting this revenue without a replacement could strain schools and essential services. Lawmakers are studying whether a phasedโ€‘in approach could soften the blow.

Whether youโ€™re excited about tax relief or concerned about local impacts, now is the time to educate yourself and speak up. Check out the video and join the conversation!

Standing at Lauderhill City Hall, the Peace Garden serves as a moving tribute to those whose lives were taken by gun violence.

For the next month, we invite the community to visit, reflect, and remember. Each memorial represents a life that mattered and a loved one who will never be forgotten.

Together, we honor their memory and renew our commitment to peace.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Walk for Peace! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

This weekend, our community came together with one voice and one purpose: to promote peace, stand against violence, and show that positive change begins with each of us.

From the walkers, volunteers, sponsors, community leaders, faith-based organizations, public safety partners, and families who participatedโ€”thank you for making this event a success. Your presence sent a powerful message that we are stronger when we stand together.

Letโ€™s continue to build safer neighborhoods, stronger relationships, and a culture of peace throughout the year.
