Master Your Golf Stance for Every Shot! 🏌️♀️
A solid stance is the foundation of every great golf shot. Here’s a breakdown of the correct foot placement for different shots and why each stance matters!
1️⃣ The Drive – 🚀 Power & Distance
✅ Stance: Wide, with feet slightly outside shoulder width.
✅ Ball Position: Forward, near the inside of your left foot (for right-handed players).
✅ Why? A wider stance creates a strong base for generating power, while positioning the ball forward helps you hit on the upswing for maximum distance.
2️⃣ Long Iron Shot – 🎯 Controlled Power
✅ Stance: Slightly narrower than the drive but still wide enough for balance.
✅ Ball Position: Slightly forward of center.
✅ Why? This setup ensures a descending strike, compressing the ball properly while maintaining power and accuracy.
3️⃣ Middle Iron Shot – 🔥 Balanced Accuracy
✅ Stance: Feet about shoulder-width apart.
✅ Ball Position: Centered.
✅ Why? Keeping the ball in the middle helps maintain a consistent angle of attack, leading to a cleaner, more controlled shot.
4️⃣ Chip Shot – 🎯 Precision & Control
✅ Stance: Feet close together, weight slightly forward.
✅ Ball Position: Slightly back of center.
✅ Why? A narrower stance and forward-leaning weight promote a downward strike, ensuring solid contact and better control over trajectory and spin.
5️⃣ The Putt – ⛳ Steady & Accurate
✅ Stance: Feet close together for stability.
✅ Ball Position: Centered.
✅ Why? A stable stance with minimal movement allows for a smooth, controlled stroke, improving accuracy and consistency on the greens.
