During National Police Week, we honor the service and life of Jones County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Randy Chancellor (Jones 10) who was killed on February 28, 2001, when his JCSD patrol cruiser was struck by a drunk driver.

While Deputy Chancellor was responding to a call, another vehicle was traveling towards his patrol cruiser from the opposite direction at a high rate of speed. As he attempted to move out of the vehicle's path, Deputy Chancellor's patrol cruiser was struck head-on.

Deputy Randy Chancellor was married with two daughters at his End Of Watch on February 28, 2001. May his memory, his life, and his service be a blessing to his family, both blood and blue, today and every day. Gone too soon. Rest easy brother, we have diligently held watch since you were taken from us.
