Registration is now open for Laurel Historical Society's popular Rube Goldberg Summer Camp!

This is a free camp where 3rd-5th graders can learn more about science through hands-on activities. Learn more or register through the link below:

Our Annual Rube Goldberg Summer Camp returns June 22nd through 26th! Join us at the Laurel Museum for this FREE summer camp aimed at rising 3rd to 5th graders for five days of fun building simple machines with a team, while learning about the connection to 19th century mill life.

Time: 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM daily
Location: Laurel Community Pool Room & Laurel Museum (additional location information will be sent in the confirmation email)
Cost: FREE (advanced registration is required)

Laurel will be closed on Friday, June 19th, in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. We will have an adjusted Trash, Recycling and Composting schedule that week:

- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday collections are unchanged.
- Friday collections move to Wednesday, June 17th.

There will be no bulky item or yard debris collection this week. The next scheduled date is June 24th. To schedule a bulky item pickup, yard collection or for more information, please call Public Works at 301-725-0088 or email [email protected].

Save the date! On Tuesday, June 23rd, Prince George’s County will hold the 2026 Primary Gubernatorial Election. This election will provide voters with the opportunity to select their party’s candidates for local, state, school board, and judicial offices. Citizen participation in the electoral process helps shape the future leadership and direction of our government.

They are also looking for students aged 16-17 to become student election judges to help during election day. Those interested can scan the QR Code to apply.
