Prince George’s County, Maryland is home to five of the 10 richest Black towns in America, and the wealth is impossible to miss, from Rolls Royces and McLarens to $3 million homes and private schools. RocaNews Youtubers visit Bowie, Woodmore, Upper Marlboro, and Fort Washington while showing how government jobs, college-educated families, entrepreneurship, and decades of development helped shape the area. One resident even went from a defense contract to launching an AI startup, while another shared that her mother was appointed by President Biden. Folks are finally getting a look at a thriving Black majority community that many people never knew existed.

🚨 PGC VOTERS DESERVE ANSWERS — NOT AN EMPTY CHAIR.

Today’s scheduled Prince George’s County Board of Elections meeting was supposed to provide something basic: transparency. The purpose was to review the signatures rejected in the opposing candidate’s petition and explain exactly how the Board reached its conclusion.

Instead? The public was left with another unanswered question: Why wasn’t the meeting kept?

When ballot access is on the line, the Board of Elections does not get to operate behind a curtain. Every rejected signature represents a voter—someone who signed, participated, and expected their voice to be counted fairly. If signatures were rejected, the public deserves to know why. If the Board followed the rules, it should be able to show its work.

This is not about protecting one candidate or attacking another. It is about whether Prince George’s County voters can trust the process.
No unexplained cancellations.
No closed-door conclusions.
No “just trust us” democracy.

The Prince George’s County Board of Elections must promptly reschedule the review, provide clear notice to the candidates and public, and release a transparent accounting of every challenged and rejected signature—including the legal or procedural basis for each determination.

Democracy cannot survive on secrecy, silence, and scheduling games. PGC voters are watching.

2026 PGC Ballot Question 🗳️

Question D: County Purchasing. **This question, if approved by the voters, would give the County's Purchasing Agent the power to sign all purchasing documents and permits the County to partner with out public entities to purchase good and services.

THINGS VOTERS CAN CONSIDER 🤔

Wicomico County, Maryland - A Maryland county purchasing manual expressly directs its Purchasing Department to maintain joint or cooperative purchasing with the Board of Education and other public jurisdictions.

✔️RESULTS: This shows that cooperative purchasing is a practical county-government model within Maryland, not an untested approach.

Maryland public procurement rules - Maryland regulations define intergovernmental cooperative purchasing as either pooled bidding or “piggybacking” on another government entity’s contract.

✔️RESULTS: The regulations permit the method where it produces cost benefits, administrative efficiencies, or governmental cooperation—and specifically state it cannot be used to avoid competition.

OUR RECOMMENDED SAFEGUARDS

To ensure Question D delivers savings without weakening accountability, implementation should require:

➡️Documentation that the underlying public contract was competitively solicited and that its scope, pricing, and terms fit the County’s needs.

➡️Public reporting of cooperative-purchase spending, vendor, contract source, estimated savings, and participation by County-based and certified small or minority-owned businesses.

➡️Continued compliance with County ethics rules, responsible-bidder requirements, contract monitoring, and applicable supplier-diversity goals.
