Jordan, known as “Poncho” by most, was a member of our department many years ago. He will be missed dearly and we will cherish the time we had with him.

Jordan Scott Smith, 32 of Laurel passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2026. He was born on March 11, 1994 in Connersville.
Jordan was a volunteer firefighter and EMS.
Jordan was a beloved son, brother and friend who’s caring and giving nature touched the lives of those around him. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games. More than anything he treasured his time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Shannon Smith; his stepfather who raised him, Tom Brandenburg; and his brothers, Justin Smith and Joshua Brandenburg.
Jordan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bertha Sue Marcum and Terry Kolodzick and his great grandparents, Isabelle and Steve Marcum.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
