Last night"s meeting we had the privelage to work with the burn trailer for a few hours with two great instructors. We are glad that we don't see house fires very often, but if and when we do this trailer greatly helps us to sharpen and tone our skills for those situations. This is always a great excercise to practice our quick entry and interior attack, communication skills, pump operator, hydraulic and natural ventilation, and SCBA air management, all while keeping our firemen in a safe and controlled enviroment. This also helps us train our new firemen and allows them to feel comfortable in these situations so they are familiar when a real scenario happens. These guys did and excellent job and are more then ready when needed.
