Thank-you Laurens Living !! ♥️ ♥️
Today we’re featuring a Laurens spot with history, heart, and horsepower.
Nostalgic Station is owned by Cindy Kuhnel and Richard Kuhnel, who saw the potential in an original 1930 filling station and brought it back to life.
According to Cindy, the station stopped selling gas in 1954. When she and Richard bought the property in November 2002, the old building needed vision, work, and care. Richard had the dream to save it, restore it, and turn it into a place people still enjoy today.
Now, Nostalgic Station has become a local gathering place for classic cars, hot rods, gassers, and people who love seeing history preserved. Over the years, thousands of visitors have stopped by, and their free monthly Cruise-In has become a special part of the Laurens car community.
One of their favorite memories came during the Power Tour in November 2024, when around 150 racing cars visited over a seven-hour stretch.
The before-and-after photos tell a powerful story. With time, work, and the right people willing to see what an old place still had left to give, something forgotten became something folks now gather around.
Thank you to Cindy and Richard Kuhnel for sharing these photos and a piece of Nostalgic Station’s story with us.
