The purpose of this page is to inform the community of new and interesting things going on with the Laurens Fire District Emergency Squad - including training, information for prospective members, pictures of equipment, and etc. This page and it's admins will NOT release confidential information via posts or private messages. The page and it's admins reserve the right to moderate comments on this

page, as we want to maintain a family-friendly and professional atmosphere. The Laurens Fire District Emergency Squad is comprised entirely of VOLUNTEER EMTs, Firefighters, Drivers, and Paramedics who live in our community. These wonderful people sacrifice their time to help their neighbors in a time of need. In addition to working full-time jobs and having personal lives, our volunteers respond to calls and keep up on their emergency medical training. We bill insurance companies for reimbursement for our service. Billing for service is not intended to burden our community members; it is only to support our service and to do what we can to continue providing high level service to our community. If you have questions, including those regarding membership, PLEASE message us! "Laurens Fire District Update: Apparatus Replacement
We are still working on setting a date for the vote.
Here is the presentation from the 3/6/26 Public Information Session providing updates on the Laurens Fire District and information regarding the replacement of the West Laurens (OUT OF SERVICE) fire engine and the District's ambulance.
Our goal is to replace both the fire engine and ambulance without a tax increase.
Questions Answered at the session:
There is an immediate need for both a fire engine and an ambulance. Grants have low approval odds and long award cycles for apparatus.
The County Ambulance Service is meant as a supplement to our ambulance, not a replacement.
We are accounting for fluctuations in call and response volume on revenue.
Revenue generated by the ambulance is restricted and can only be used to support the squad by law.
The engine and ambulance will be separate items to vote on.
