🥏 HAPPY NATIONAL DISC GOLF DAY! 🥏

Did you know August 1st is National Disc Golf Day? Neither did we. But when we found out, we knew we needed to celebrate it for Heydon!

Heydon is our resident disc golf connoisseur here at Scotland County Emergency Communications. When he's not calmly handling 911 calls and dispatching help to our community, responding with the Gibson Fire Department or Scotland County Rescue, you can find him out on the course perfecting his backhand and talking birdies, bogeys, and disc selection like it's a second language.

Happy National Disc Golf Day from all of us at SCEC! 🏆

👯🍰 Happy International Friendship Day & National Cheesecake Day! 🍰👯

Isn't it fitting that International Friendship Day and National Cheesecake Day fall on the same day? We'd like to think that's no coincidence!

Fans of The Golden Girls know there was no better way to solve life's problems than gathering around the kitchen table with your best friends and sharing a slice of cheesecake. While we can't promise cheesecake will solve everything, spending time with good friends certainly makes life's challenges a little easier.

To all of our friends throughout Scotland County—and especially our telecommunicators, first responders, and public safety partners—thank you for your friendship, teamwork, and support throughout the year. The relationships we build with one another help us serve our community every single day.

So today, channel your inner Golden Girl: call a friend, grab a slice of cheesecake, share a few laughs, and make some memories. We'd say Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose would wholeheartedly approve. 💙

Happy International Friendship Day and National Cheesecake Day!
