UPDATE: THE SUSPECT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS ROBERT SHAW> IF YOU KNOW THE LOCATION OF SHAW YOU CAN CONTACT DET CASTANEDA OR SCOTLAND CRIMESTOPPERS. You could receive a cash reward if your tip leads to an arrest.

The Laurinburg Police Department is asking for the publics assistance in the identification of the male shown in the photographs. On 05/13/2026 at around 12:45pm, the male in the photograph who appears to be late 40's to late 50's, wearing a black ball cap with a grey color bill, salt and pepper beard and mustache, silver chains, wearing a black t-shirt with the word “RESPECT” on it with white designs, a dark grey hoodie, torn gray jeans and white tennis shoes, stole a financial card from the Nic’s Pic Kwik #7 at 13700 Andrew Jackson Hwy, Laurinburg, NC. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Laurinburg Police Department Det C. Castaneda at 910-276-3211.

BOTH BRENDEN SMITH AND JORDAN SMITH, ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, HAVE SURRENDERED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT.

The Laurinburg Police Department are searching for two individuals reference to the Shooting/Robbery on Roosevelt St, May 13, 2026. The victim in this incident reported that after being contacted to come to the location, the individuals exited from the residence and held him at gunpoint robbing them of jewelry and currency. Based on the victims testimony, the investigation led to the identification and verified by the victim prior to warrants being obtained.
-Brenden Isaiah SMITH, 23yoa of Roosevelt St is wanted for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy, Kidnapping, Weapons violations and Drug Violations.
-Jordan Patrick SMITH, 18yoa of Roosevelt St is wanted for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy, Kidnapping, weapons violations and Drug Violations.

These funds are paid to tipsters who contacted in to solve crimes and remove criminals from our communities. Please consider supporting them. On April 21, 2026, during the monthly city council meeting, Mayor James Willis sworn in two newest additions to the Laurinburg Police Department, Officer Jaden Williams and Officer Jatique Barnes. Chief Mitch Johnson then presented both officers with their badge. Officer Williams and Officer Barnes are lateral transfers with Officer Williams transferring from Richmond County Sheriffs Office and Officer Barnes from Hoke County Sheriffs Office. Both officers were accompanied by friends and family. Please help the Laurinburg Police Department in welcoming Officer Williams and Officer Barnes to the blue line family.
