He has dedicated his life to the field of public service. His career began at the young age of 13 responding to fire calls as a Junior Fireman. He is currently an Auxiliary Sheriff's Deputy and a volunteer Lieutenant with the Laurinburg Fire Department. He has served this community as a Youth Baseball coach and as Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America.John is a member of the First

United Methodist Church in Laurinburg. He is married to Tracy McNeely Martin and has two sons,Jake and Grey. As your Sheriff, I will develop a Professional Sheriff's Office that will have highly trained and skilled law enforcement officers. I, along with the members of my office will treat every citizen with dignity and respect. I will work diligently with all Federal, State, and Local agencies to seek out and bring to Justice all criminals that prey on the youth and elderly of our community. I will be a Sheriff that you can expect results from no matter how minor the crime. My door will always be open to the citizens of this great county.
