Here are some questions with answers that others have asked about joining Laverne EMS.
What is required to just drive the ambulance? Minimum of EMR licensure. We can use firefighters or law enforcement if no other staff is available.
Is it too late to join? NO! Get ahold of me ASAP.
What is the cost? $300 If you choose to volunteer for Laverne we will reimburse you 100% after 1 year of service.
What does it pay? We are considered a volunteer agency & thus wages are very minimal. Annual stipends are payed out around Christmas and are based on hours of service.
How does scheduling work if I have a full time job?
You tell me what you can work. We are that flexible.
How many people are on the EMS crew? Three, they are Bobbie Mitchell - Shelby WBatman - D'Londa Swallow-Batman

This EMR class started Thursday but, it is not too late to join. We will finish June 20th.
We need people willing to answer the call. We are short staffed, but with the awesome people we have we are making it work.

If you have changed your mind about taking the EMR class let me know ASAP! I have an extra book.
This is entry-level training for EMS. We will start classes April 9th. Class days are Tues. & Thurs. with a couple of Saturdays. Final course testing date will be June 20th.
If you are on the fence send me a message. I would be more than happy to answer your questions.

We had a great turn out for the EMR enrollment last night!
If you were unable to attend last night but are interested in taking the course please let me know ASAP!
Deadline to enroll is March 2nd.
Plan is to start class April 9th & be finished June 20th.
I only have 4 seats remaining.

There has been enough people express interest in an EMR class that I will be starting a class in April.
Enrollment & information February 23rd - 6pm at Laverne EMS - 115 N. Ohio.

We are currently looking for EMR’s, EMT’s, & Advanced EMT's to join our team.
Currently, many rural agencies are struggling to find dedicated employees.
EMS agencies all over the nation are struggling with recruitment and retention. There is a nationwide shortage!

For several months Laverne EMS, with our 3 person crew, has been covering the entire county due to staffing shortages at our neighboring agency.

We had the opportunity to participate in a training event for Jr & Sr class students at Laverne this week.
We provided critical stop the bleed training to include torniquet application and wound packing. Allowing students to get some hands on experience.

I sometimes fail to get pics, but did manage to snap this one of the guys learning to care for a choking infant.
