One important concern discovered during this incident was that the home did not have working smoke detectors. This serves as a serious reminder of how important smoke detectors are in every home.

🔥 SMOKE DETECTORS SAVE LIVES!

A working smoke detector can provide the early warning you and your family need to escape a fire safely. Fires can spread quickly, especially when they start in a basement, leaving little time to react.

✅ Install smoke detectors on every level of your home, including the basement.

✅ Place smoke detectors inside and outside every sleeping area.

✅ Test your smoke detectors monthly.

✅ Replace batteries as needed and replace smoke detectors according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

✅ Make sure everyone in your household knows two ways to get out and has a designated meeting place outside.

PLEASE DON’T WAIT UNTIL IT’S TOO LATE! Take a few minutes today to check your smoke detectors. That simple step could save your life or the life of someone you love.

Your safety matters to us. Let’s work together to keep Lawnside safe!
