The Lawrence Police Department continues to actively monitor Pemberton Park and remove unauthorized and unregistered motor vehicles from the area. We are also working alongside the Lawrence Department of Public Works to clean and remove trash left behind in the park.

We encourage all residents, businesses, and visitors who utilize this space to do their part in helping keep Pemberton Park clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Working together as a community helps preserve and improve these shared public spaces for all to enjoy.

The Lawrence Police Department was proud to join Congresswoman Lori Trahan, Mayor Brian A. DePeña, and other city officials for the announcement of the Casey and Daisy Bridge Project, an important infrastructure investment aimed at strengthening our community.

Bridges play a critical role in the daily life of any city. They connect neighborhoods, support local businesses, ensure students can safely travel to and from school, and allow public safety personnel to respond quickly when called upon.

This project reflects the hard work, advocacy, and collaboration of many partners. We would especially like to recognize the students from Lawrence High School whose civic engagement and commitment to their community earned them a meaningful role in this process. Their voices helped ensure that this project moved forward.

Your involvement is a reminder that strong communities are built through participation and leadership at every level. You are the future of this city, and your continued engagement is essential as we work together to build a stronger Lawrence.

This morning, we joined the Andover Police Department, Methuen Fire Department, Andover Fire Department, and Lawrence Fire Department at Greater Lawrence Technical School for a senior Mock OUI crash demonstration ahead of prom season.

This impactful event provided an important opportunity to engage with our young residents and emphasize the very real dangers and consequences of impaired and distracted driving. By working together, we hope to encourage safe decision-making and help ensure that everyone enjoys a safe and memorable prom season.

Thank you to all participating agencies, school staff, and students for making this educational event possible.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the Lawrence Police Gang Unit, working in partnership with the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit and the MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), located a juvenile male in the area of Winthrop Avenue who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Assault with Intent to Murder and two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (ABDW).

After a brief foot pursuit, officers safely took the juvenile into custody without incident. He was transported to the Lawrence Police Department for booking and subsequently transferred to a juvenile detention facility.

We remain committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe through teamwork, professionalism, and strong community partnerships. Thank you to the officers involved for their continued dedication and service to the City of Lawrence.

The Lawrence Police Department would like to alert the community that a phone scam targeting residents, particularly elderly individuals, is once again circulating.

Scammers are calling victims and falsely claiming that a family member has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. The callers then demand money in exchange for the family member’s release. Similar scams were reported in the past, and it appears they are resurfacing.

The Lawrence Police Department urges residents to:

• Do NOT provide personal, banking, or credit card information over the phone
• Remain calm and attempt to contact the family member directly
• Be cautious of callers demanding immediate payment or secrecy
• Report suspicious calls to law enforcement immediately

If you believe you have been the victim of fraud or received one of these calls, please contact the Lawrence Police Department.

Please share this information to help protect family, friends, and neighbors.
