It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected loss of Lt. Andy Ambers on February 13th, 2024. Lt. Ambers was currently assigned to Engine 36 on C-shift. Before being promoted to Lieutenant, he served 15+ years on Ladder 38.

Lt. Ambers served the City of Lawrence and its citizens for 26 years. During those years, he received many awards for his work as a firefighter. He also served as the Lawrence District President for the Local 416 for 8 years.

Lt. Ambers will be missed in the companies, around the firehouse and by those that knew and loved him. His jokes and laughs and stories, we will all hold dear.

Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts during this most difficult time.
