Temperatures will be on the rise by the middle of this upcoming week. Highs of 85 to 90 coupled with very high humidity will send heat index readings well into the 90s to potentially near 100 away from and outside of any thunderstorms that develop. The Heat Risk map shows Thursday's heat potential, with moderate to major heat impacts possible, impacting especially heat-sensitive individuals. If storm chances increase, widespread heat impacts would be lessened, so monitor the latest forecast information.

June is Men's Mental Health Month.
Many men are taught to be strong, push through challenges, and handle problems on their own. But taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

Stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and burnout can affect anyone. Reaching out for support is not a sign of weakness—it is a sign of strength.

This month, check in with the men in your life. Ask how they're really doing. Listen without judgment. A simple conversation can make a difference.

If you're struggling, know that you don't have to face it alone. Support is available, and help works.

Your mental health matters. Your story matters. You matter.

June is here, and National HIV Testing Day is coming up on June 27. This is a good time to prioritize routine screening and take a simple step toward protecting your health.

The Van Buren/Cass District Health Department provides confidential HIV testing at both clinic locations as part of our sexual health services.

Special testing dates this month:
• Wednesday, June 23 – Lawrence Clinic during regular clinic hours
• Thursday, June 24 – Dowagiac Clinic during regular clinic hours

Walk-ins are welcome at both clinics, and appointments can also be scheduled in advance.

HIV testing is quick, confidential, and an important part of routine care. Early detection supports earlier treatment and better long-term health outcomes.
