Douglas County Youth Services is offering “The Parent Project,” a 10-week program that gives parents, grandparents and caregivers tools to guide their strong-willed teens (ages 10 and older) and build healthy families.

The program is free and open to Douglas County residents.

Black maternal mortality is a public health crisis. In Oregon, Black Parent Initiative's Sacred Roots Doula & Mobile Lactation Program provides free doula and lactation support to Black, African, African American and multiracial families through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Join us for a follow-up conversation on birth outcomes in Douglas County on September 17th from 6-7:30pm in Flory Meeting Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Together, we will build on what we learned in April at our first birth outcomes conversation. All are welcome to attend, whether or not you attended the meeting in April.

Teens and young adults are at higher risk of developing lifelong addiction to to***co and v**e products as well as other drugs.

In Lawrence, 20% of schools, including elementary have 10 or more to***co retailers within a half mile.

Lawrence has reached a record number of to***co retailers at 87, equaling more than 1 to***co retailer per 1,000 people. We don't want to reach 90 and we hope you don't want to either.

🦇Be aware if you find a bat indoors. Bat bites can be so small that you may not even notice it. If you don't know whether the bat touched you, then you are considered potentially exposed to rabies. If this happens, it's important to catch the bat so it can be tested. If the bat does have rabies, you will need vaccines to prevent rabies infection.
