It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of life member Leon M. Sine.

Leon M. Sine
July 25, 1940 - March 26, 2025

Leon M. Sine, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Serenity Hospice Inpatient Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Born in Lambertville, NJ, Leon made his home in the Hamilton and Lawrenceville area for the past 50 years. He generously dedicated over 25 years of service to the Slackwood Volunteer Fire Company, proudly supporting his community. Throughout his life, Leon was a hardworking and dedicated man, holding various jobs over the years, most recently at ACME in the Lawrence Shopping Center, where he worked until the store’s closing. Above all, Leon was fiercely independent and found great joy in the simple pleasure of riding his bike.

Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Shirley Sine; brothers, Merritt Sine and Harry Sine; late sister-in-law, Margaret Sine; he is survived by his niece and caregiver with whom he resided, Angela Vassey and her husband, Joe; nephew, Richard Hicks; great nephews, Andrew Vassey and William Palmer; as well as many dear friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ, followed by a brief prayer service.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Any fellow firefighters wanting to attend the viewing should meet at 10:15 at the funeral home.
