Wait! Don’t pick up that pen just yet! 🖋️

We know you’re ready to get that paperwork out of the way, but did you know that many documents must be signed in front of a notary to be legally valid? If you sign or date your document before you arrive at the Clerk’s Office, we may have to ask you to start over with a fresh, unsigned copy.

To make your trip to the Anderson County Clerk's Office as smooth as possible, remember these three things:
1️⃣ Stay Blank: Leave the signature and date lines empty until you’re at our desk.
2️⃣ Bring Your ID: We need a valid, government-issued photo ID to verify your identity.
3️⃣ Round Up the Group: Everyone signing the document must be physically present.

Save yourself a second trip and wait until you see us at 100 South Main St.! We’re here to help you get it right the first time.
